How high will we fly?
only “tree-top” to 1,000 feet or so.
and how far will we go?
A. This depends on the
wind speed totally.
usually up about an hour, so the wind speed
determines how far we
will go in that time.
be cold or windy?
and because we fly “with the wind,”
you will not feel any wind in your face.
Because we do not fly extremely high, the temperature will be about what it is on the ground;
you steer a balloon?
pilot is well trained to determine the wind directions at different
altitudes and thus find a wind going the direction desired.
landing be bumpy?
A. Not unless the winds
increase in speed while in flight; but the “bumps” generally are only
small ones and easily absorbed by the balloon basket and bending
one’s knees on landing.
we fly so early in the morning?
A. This is the time of day when we have the most stable and steerable
